Aura Series - Lighting
3D printed lighting designs that capture the quiet rhythm and symmetry within patterns of four.
The Aura Series is an ongoing design study exploring the intersection of mood, form, and fabrication through 3D-printed lighting. Inspired by the gentle balance and repetition found in patterns of four, each piece aims to embody a sense of calm energy that subtly enhances its surrounding space.

The series began with the Aura Sol pendant lamp—an FDM-printed design that established the core visual language of the collection. Building on that foundation, the study evolved into the Aura Hearth bedside lamp, produced with SLA printing to enhance detail and material refinement while preserving the tranquil essence that defines the Aura identity.

Exploring the form of these lights while maintaining a cohesive design language was both soothing and expressive. I sought to create a silhouette that appeared symmetrical from one perspective yet revealed subtle asymmetry from another, incorporating sweeping, elegant curves that lend a soft, almost feminine character to the design.

I was already familiar with 3D printing—mainly SLA—but was eager to experiment with my new Bambu P1S, so I printed the pendant light using FDM. Since I used a generic lighting cord and a custom shade, I designed my own connector with a TPU gasket to friction-fit the socket. After several refinements, the flexible gasket achieved a precise, secure fit.

Beyond designing these lights for my own space, I wanted to share them with others—so I signed up for my first tabling event. With less than a month to prepare, I produced ten pendant lights and ten bedside lamps. Even with a small inventory, my printer worked nonstop, and by the end, I was proud and excited to debut the collection at the market.

The market was a success, and I was thrilled to see people genuinely interested in my lamps enough to purchase them. The Aura Series remains an ongoing project as I continue to design new lighting pieces to expand and evolve the collection.
